The Munching Wabbit: … Korean BBQ

You know those places that you don’t know exactly what they are, you just generally know about them? Like a place that you can’t name but you know the reputation.  This is one of those places.

I don’t know the name of this Korean BBQ place but the smells and line of people outside told us that we were in the right place.

We had to wait outside for about 20 to 30 minutes which I was told was pretty fast, the wait is normally around 2 hours so if you venture here be prepared to wait a bit.  A pro to this is that you can look at the menu beforehand and they might even let you order before you are seated.

Once we got to the table they had five little dishes showcasing a variety of vegetables marinated in different spices.  There was also a sort of tea that kinda tasted like unsalted popcorn, supposedly this tea is really good for your metabolism.

After we flagged down a waiter, we ordered the ribs and a side of rice to split.  When the food came out we were drooling, it looked so good!!

The ribs were marinated perfectly and were tender.  We had to use scissors to cut the meat off of the bone, a task that would be impossible with chopsticks.  I’m not huge on bones in my food but I must have had at least 4 or 5 of them with the rice, periodically adding in some of the leftover veggies.

We quickly finished off the rice, and if we had more time we would have finished of the ribs as well but unfortunately some of us had to leave for another awesome adventure in the city!  So we took the rest of the ribs to-go.

Overall, it was a really surprising night: the food was really great despite the fact that we really didn’t know what we were getting into.
